Biography

Dr. Ray is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Ray received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania before completing a residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She completed a General Academic Pediatrics fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, where she obtained a masters degree in clinical research. She joined the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh in 2014.

Dr. Ray’s research investigates access and utilization within pediatric healthcare systems in order to improve healthcare organization and patient outcomes. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, Dr. Ray has examined the impact of access to pediatric subspecialty care on patients and families; attitudes towards the use of telemedicine for pediatric subspecialty care; and time burden for patients and families seeking medical care. Dr. Ray is funded by an AHRQ Patient-Centered Outcomes Research K12 Career Development Award. Clinically, Dr. Ray is a general pediatrician in the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Primary Care Center.
