Maqui Ortiz


Maqui Ortiz is a Senior Policy Advisor with the Health Policy Institute and is a Master’s in Occupational Therapy student at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, where her current interests include interprofessional collaboration in the healthcare workforce and cost management strategies for older adult patients. Ms. Ortiz comes to the University of Pittsburgh from the Duke Clinical Research Institute, where she worked in the Outcomes Research and Assessment Group specializing in cost-effectiveness research. There she worked on a range of projects including health information technology implementation in a community-based health network, a multi-center research network on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and a community faith-based diabetes intervention study. She is the co-author of several manuscripts, conference abstracts and a book chapter on cost-effectiveness research methods.
