Carol S. Stilley, PhD, RN



Dr. Stilley joined the School of Nursing faculty in 1999, and is currently an Associate Professor of Nursing and Psychiatry and Vice Chair of Research in Health & Community Systems.  She received a BSN from Columbia University, an MEd in Educational Counseling and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.  She has completed post-graduate training in neuropsychology.

Her research focuses on psychological and cognitive aspects of chronic illness with an emphasis on correlates and predictors of adherence to complex treatment regimens. She has received federal funding to study relationships between individual factors, physical and mental health outcomes among transplant candidates, recipients and patients with co-morbid conditions.

She has taught courses in Complementary and Alternative Medicine and research at undergraduate and graduate levels and chaired committees at the university and school level and served on boards of community educational and health centered organizations.
