This ongoing trial looks at technology-enhanced coaching of patients along with supportive family members to determine if the intervention improves patient engagement and reduces risk for diabetes complications.

The study was conducted by the University Center for Social & Urban Research (UCSUR) and Health Policy Institute (HPI) at the University of Pittsburgh in partnership with various local organizations.

Dr. Rosland is an Associate Professor in the Division of Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine in the Pitt School of Medicine and a Core Investigator with the VA Pittsburgh Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion. Her recent studies in Diabetes Care and Family, Systems, and Health highlight the role caregivers play in helping adults with chronic health conditions manage their health and navigate the healthcare system.
