Sarah Stahl, MS, PhD

Sarah T. Stahl, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Stahl’s research focuses on developing and testing behavioral (or lifestyle) interventions that prevent depression among vulnerable samples of older adults and their spouses. She has studied diverse populations of adults at increased risk for depression including caregivers and older adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one. With support from a career development award from the National Institute of Mental Health, Dr. Stahl is developing and testing an intervention that uses digital monitoring and motivational health coaching to encourage a regular rhythm of physical activity, healthy eating, and good sleep practices among recently bereaved older adults (WELL Study).
