Biography

Jim Redmond,  MBA, LFACHE, is the Senior Advisor to the University of Pittsburgh’s Health Policy Institute. He serves as liaison with state government, health related organizations, associations and entities in Pennsylvania and nationally to establish collaborative health policy research projects and programs. He is also Adjunct Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Planning, Graduate School of Public Health. Before joining Pitt, he served as Senior Vice President, Legislative Services, of The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), a statewide organization representing more than 250 hospitals and health systems. Mr. Redmond was responsible for state and federal legislative issues, including Medicare and Medicaid, medical liability reform, hospital licensure, trauma center development, tax exemption of nonprofits, workforce development, economic development, health reform, patient safety, and health insurance/managed care. Mr. Redmond assisted in the distribution, return, and evaluation of the surveys distributed to Hospitals across Pennsylvania as part of Aim 3 of The Caregiver Project.
